Ms. Nouf Behbehani, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority, affirmed the State of Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening its capacity to address the impacts of climate change and to supporting the transition toward a more sustainable and resilient green economy.
These remarks were made during her participation in the Women and Climate Summit, held as part of Oman Climate Week, where she highlighted the vital role of women in climate action—recognizing them as key partners in devising solutions, enhancing adaptive capacity, and driving the green transition.
Behbehani emphasized the importance of moving women’s involvement beyond mere participation to roles in leadership, decision-making, innovation, and green entrepreneurship, while noting Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to empower women and boost their engagement across various environmental and climate action initiatives.
