Dr. Reem Al-Fulaij, Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs, received the Finnish Ambassador, Mr. Juha Mustonen, at the headquarters of the Environment Public Authority (EPA).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed avenues for joint cooperation regarding food security during times of war, as well as the preservation and long-term sustainability of water resources for future generations through mechanisms that ensure the continuity of food supplies.
The discussion also highlighted the EPA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation on climate change—particularly in the context of wars and crises—in a manner that aligns with the State of Kuwait’s geographical location and potential environmental challenges.
Both parties agreed to formulate a comprehensive plan for holding extensive meetings with state leadership and relevant authorities to discuss these challenges, devise clear solutions, and establish proactive protocols to address them and mitigate their impacts.
