Natural reserves

  • After the recommendation of the General Authority for the Environment and the approval of the Council of Ministers, the total number of Kuwait's declared reserves for 2016 amounted to 12 (12) protected, representing approximately 12% of the total area of the country, which can be increased in accordance with the policy and requirements of the state, and includes 10 declared land reserves, including 8 land reserves, which are respectively : Al-Khwaisat Reserve (Jahra), Sabah Al-Ahmad Nature Reserve, Gulf of Sulaibikhat Bay (Doha),Umm Naqqa Reserve, Umm Qadir Reserve, Wadi Al-Batin Reserve, Al-Huwaimli Protected Area, and Saad Reserve, along with 2 land reserves classified under the name Ecological Fence and inane life Center in Al-Liyah And the quarain rib.
  • There are two declared marine reserves in the State of Kuwait, namely Mubarak Al-Kabeer Reserve and the Sulaibikhat Marine Reserve, which represents approximately 3% of the total area of the State of Kuwait.
